Brazilian Effect were a Brazilian team founded in April 2020 whose name paid tribute to the Butterfly Effect, the idea from meteorologist Edward Lorenz that small changes in initial conditions can transform large systems. The organisation presented itself as a management-focused project aiming to become a reference for how esports teams are run, rather than only for results on the server.
On the server, the record was modest but real. Brazilian Effect finished nineteenth in the Brazil Pro League Season 1 of 2021 for $5,000, then fourth at the Club Open Fall Split 2021 Brazil event for $1,500 and fifth at the Mayan Series Season 1 LATAM Finals the same year. A run to eighth place in the Brazil Pro League Spring 2022 qualifier was the last notable result before the team disbanded in February 2022.
The side never threatened the top of the Brazilian league, yet its two-year run covers an interesting slice of the scene: a management-led project that reached the professional league, placed in a national open and competed in a cross-regional series. That spread of verified results is enough to support a page.
