DeToNator were a veteran Japanese esports organisation whose history long predates PUBG Mobile: the club itself was founded in 2009, and its PUBG Mobile division arrived in December 2018, in the game's first competitive year in Japan. That early start showed in their results. They were runners-up at the PUBG Mobile Japan Championship Season 2 in November 2019 and, a month later, represented Japan at the Club Open Fall Split Global Finals, finishing 29th.
When the professional Japan League launched, DeToNator were part of it from Season 1, placing 14th in Phase 1 and 16th in Phase 2 of 2021, alongside a third-place finish at the first Japan Championship. The division closed in December 2021, exactly three years after it opened. DeToNator never won a major PUBG Mobile title, but as one of Japan's earliest professional rosters they belong to the foundation era of the scene.
