Gankstars finished 2nd at Star Challenge 2018 - North America
Gankstars are a North American esports organisation who rose to prominence in mobile gaming from 2015, first in Vainglory, where they won the first Vainglory International Premier League in Korea, and then in Critical Ops, before expanding into PC titles such as Paladins and Fortnite. Their PUBG Mobile division was a brief late addition, formed in July 2018 with ZooTay, Everfury, Pyrrha, Angry and Beowulf.
The division's entire competitive record fits into two events, but both were significant. Gankstars finished second in the Star Challenge 2018 North America event for $15,000, which qualified them for the Star Challenge world event, where they finished seventh for $4,000 against the best teams from every region.
Gankstars disbanded at the end of 2018, with the players dispersing to sides including Nova Esports NA and OMEN Elite. Gankstars' PUBG Mobile story lasted six months, yet a continental runners-up finish and a world top-ten place in the game's first showcase year are verified results of real weight, and they earn the organisation a page.
