GC Busan finished 1st at Street Challenge Season 3
GC Busan was a South Korean esports organisation supported by the city of Busan, and its PUBG Mobile team was one of the founding forces of the Korean competitive scene. It was formed on 3 May 2019 by JustHis, a former member of KR Winner Chicken Dinner, together with DongJin, winner of the Street Challenge Season 2, alongside YeonJun and Rose, and it lasted until March 2021.
The team began as BUSAN, then took the GC Busan name after winning its Street Challenge Season 3 qualifier, and it confirmed that promise by winning the Street Challenge Season 3 itself in June 2019 for $8,460. A month later it reached the Club Open Spring Split Global Finals, finishing eighth for $5,000, an early sign that Korean teams could compete on the world stage.
GC Busan's later results kept it near the top domestically: third in the Street Challenge Season 4, sixth in the Street Challenge 2020 first half, and second in the Street Challenge 2020 second half for $9,562, its largest prize. When the team disbanded on 5 March 2021, its players scattered to sides including BC SWELL, Warriors Esports and ASA KOREA, carrying its early-scene lineage into the Pro Series era.
