Still Moving Under Gunfire finished 1st at Peacekeeper Elite League Summer 2022

Still Moving Under Gunfire, universally known as Team SMG, are a Chinese esports club founded by singer JJ Lin, whose name describes moving forward through a rain of bullets. The PUBG Mobile division was established in June 2019 and became one of the founding teams of the PEL.

For three seasons SMG were a solid but unspectacular league side, with a fifth place in the second season of 2021 as their best return. Everything changed in the Summer split of 2022, when SMG won the PEL Grand Final on the final day, beating Nova Esports and LGD Gaming to the title and earning the club its first major trophy.

The championship also sent SMG directly to the global championship. The team disbanded in December 2022, only months after its greatest triumph, which makes its story one of the most dramatic in the PEL: founding member, long wait, one title, and then gone.
