Team Japan finished 3rd at Esports Championships East Asia 2023

Team Japan is the national PUBG Mobile side representing Japan, with lineups selected per event rather than a fixed club roster. The team has appeared at the Asian Games, the Esports Championships and the IESF World Esports Championship qualifiers, drawing players from across the Japanese scene for each tournament.

Its best finish came at the Esports Championships East Asia 2023, where Japan placed third and earned $770. The side also finished joint seventh at the 19th Asian Games in 2023 and ninth at the 20th Asian Games in 2026, with further appearances in the IESF Asia and Oceania qualifiers. The side also placed tenth at the IESF Asia and Oceania Qualifier in 2025 and eleventh in the same qualifier in 2024.

Japan's national team is judged on these event placements rather than league form, and Japan's record shows regular qualification without yet reaching a major final. The East Asia bronze remains the side's standout result.
