Team Square finished 1st at Rivals Cup 2022: Korea Qualifier

Team Square was an organisation-less South Korean PUBG Mobile team, which makes its record unusually impressive: without a parent organisation, sponsor or academy system behind it, the team competed at the top of the Korean scene from 2020 until its disbandment on 25 October 2022.

Its best results came early and late. In the Street Challenge 2020 first half it finished second for $9,562, and in the Pro Series 2021 Season 2 it finished second again for $8,513. The 2022 season added third places in both the Season 1 and Season 2 for over $2,300 each, fifth in the Season 4, and fourth in the 2022 Fall Finals for $6,936, a run of finals appearances most sponsored teams would envy.

Team Square also won the Rivals Cup 2022 Korea Qualifier, the last title on its record before it folded. Its story is a useful counterweight to the organisation-driven narrative of Korean PUBG Mobile: a self-run team that stayed competitive for two full years, reached two domestic finals as runner-up, and only disappeared after its strongest season.
