TOP Esports, backed by the Topsport retail group, were one of the first major Chinese organisations to field a PUBG Mobile team, forming the division in March 2019. They did not have to wait long for success: within five months the team had won the Spring Split of the PUBG Mobile Club Open, the leading global club competition of that year.
The victory made TOP Esports an early name in Chinese mobile competition, and the team went on to play in the first professional league season later in 2019. The division's life was short, however, and it was disbanded in July 2020, barely sixteen months after it began.
A single global-level title in a short career is a clear pass for a page. TOP Esports matter to the record because they were champions at a moment when Chinese PUBG Mobile was still finding its structure, and their win is documented in the team's own history.
