PMSC 2019: KENBOO win the Taipei Star Challenge
Overview
The PUBG Mobile Star Challenge 2019 was the second edition of the global Star Challenge series, played in Taipei on 7 and 8 September 2019 with sixteen creator led teams and eight matches across two days.
Thirty two creators entered online voting in two phases, and the top sixteen each paired with a three player professional team, which benched one professional so its creator could play.
KENBOO won the event with 100,000 dollars, ahead of O-Team on 50,000 dollars and Team GodLike on 25,000 dollars, and the sixteen teams were a mix of creators and professional players rather than regular professional rosters.
VSPN produced the event with Tencent Games and PUBG Corporation, with Google Play and VIVO NEX S as sponsors, and the Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium hosted the finals in front of a live crowd.
BulShark of the EVOS Gank side took the MVP award with a 3,000 dollar prize, Dynamo of HYDRA won the Popular Creator Vote award with the same amount, and Kenboo, Luxxy and BulShark also took the Survivor, Most Damage and Most Kills awards, with no cash prize stated for those three awards.
