Revenge Esports won PUBG Mobile India Tour 2019
Overview
Kolkata's Biswa Bangla Convention Centre hosted the PUBG Mobile India Tour 2019 Grand Finals on 19 and 20 October 2019, the closing LAN of a nationwide tour with OPPO as title sponsor. Tencent Games and PUBG Corporation organised the event, and twenty teams played ten squad TPP matches for the tour title.
Four regional groups and a wildcard round shaped the field. Each group sent its top four teams through to Kolkata, and four wildcard winners completed the twenty. The wider tour had drawn a qualifier pool of about 400,000 players, among the largest entry fields Indian mobile esports had seen at the time.
Revenge Esports lifted the title and the Rs 50,00,000 top prize. Orange Rock collected Rs 20,00,000 as runners-up and Team Insidious Rs 10,00,000 in third, while every finalist down to twentieth place earned a share of the placement money.
Individual and team awards added Rs 10,00,000 more. GiLL of 8Bit Rampage was named MVP and also took the most damage award, each worth Rs 50,000. SnowFTW of Team Titans won most distance, JoKer of Team Insidious took most headshots, Revenge Esports collected the most kills and most grenade kills team awards, and 8Bit Rampage won the Rs 6,00,000 popular vote.
Revenge's winning lineup paired Akshay and SoniC with ClutchGod and Trilok, names that stayed familiar in Indian PUBG Mobile for years afterwards. Orange Rock's four included a young Mavi, while GiLL and Drigger lined up together for 8Bit Rampage.
