Abrupt Slayers won PMPL South Asia Season 2 ahead of DRS Gaming
Overview
Abrupt Slayers took first place in PMPL South Asia Season 2, a 20 team online league that opened on 15 October 2020 and closed with finals matches from 5 to 8 November. DRS Gaming finished second, A1 Esports third, and 7Sea Esports fourth, while Deadeyes Guys placed fifth even though their season total prize money was higher than the fourth placed team.
League play used five groups and a round robin format across three weeks, with 60 matches in total and 48 matches for each team. Sixteen teams reached the finals, which were played over 20 matches at five matches per day. The top three teams earned places at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2020, which gave the closing matches a clear stake beyond the prize money.
DRS Gaming player Nima collected the Finals MVP award for most kills, worth $5,000, and weekly MVP awards went to SsRafat, Jane, and Raza during league play. The published prize list gives Abrupt Slayers $42,000, DRS Gaming $24,000, and A1 Esports $20,000, with the full list of 20 teams carried in the prize table for this record.
