7Sea Esports won the first official BGMI LAN ever held. The Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown 2022 ran in Delhi with 24 teams in the group stage and 16 in a one-day Grand Final on 24 July. Orangutan led by 17 points going into the sixth and last match, went out early with no kills, and 7Sea answered with a 15-kill chicken dinner to finish on 92 points, nine clear. The win paid Rs 5 lakh and carried an invite to the PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2022 Afterparty in Saudi Arabia from 18 to 20 August.
Harsh 'Spraygod' Malik was the final's most valuable player with 15 finishes, and 7Sea also led the final in total kills with 41. The six-match format drew criticism for deciding a title on a single day, but the numbers were decisive.
The org was founded by Santosh Pecheti, with Prince as captain, and had already shown form at the first BGIS, finishing fifth on 195 points in January 2022. Around the same period 7Sea won India's Dangal and the Villager Esports Pro Invitational 2021, and finished runners-up at the Skyesports Championship 3.0 behind GodLike Esports and at the BGMI Pro Scrims behind OREsports.
7Sea were known for an aggressive style, and one recap noted their heavy final day at BGIS 2021. The cited reports go quiet on the roster after that run.
