Naman Mathur, known as Mortal, is the founder of Team SouL and one of the most influential figures in Indian gaming. His playing career peaked with the PMCO 2019 title run.

Mortal's second act as a creator eclipsed his playing fame. He won the Content Creator of the Year award at the Esports Awards 2024, confirming his status as the face of Indian gaming content.

The award recognised years of consistent streaming and community building that began during his playing days.

Through SouL, he built one of the country's biggest esports organisations, with the BGMI roster becoming a perennial contender and fan favourite.

His influence extends beyond trophies: Mortal's streams and persona shaped how a generation of Indian fans related to competitive gaming.

He remains the benchmark against which Indian gaming creators are measured, and his SouL project continues to field rosters at the top level.

This page records his verified competitive and creator milestones.

Liquipedia's team history gives Mortal's playing years exact edges that this page previously left blank. He joined Team SouL on 21 December 2018, stepped back to an inactive listing on 5 August 2019, returned the following month, and his playing stint then ran to 16 January 2023. Since then his SouL role has been ownership and streaming rather than competition, which matches the Retired status on this page, and Liquipedia's introduction describes him as a co-owner of the team.
