BMOC 2022 sent 24 BGMI teams through to BMPS Season 1

The 2022 Battlegrounds Mobile India Open Challenge ran from April 4 to May 15, 2022 as the open road into the first BMPS season. KRAFTON ran the event with Tesseract Esports, and LOCO and iQOO backed it. Any squad in India could enter the in-game qualifiers, and the survivors moved through four online rounds toward 24 BMPS Season 1 seats.

Round 1 put 512 teams into 32 groups for five matches each from April 21 to 24, and the top eight per group moved on. Round 2 cut 256 teams to 64 from April 27 to 30, and Round 3 cut 64 to 32 from May 5 to 8. Round 4 added 32 invited teams to the 32 survivors and played six matches per group from May 11 to 15, with the top six per group taking the BMPS seats.

Global Esports, Team SouL, OREsports and Hyderabad Hydras led the first qualification band, followed by Big Brother Esports, Team XO, WSF Esports and FS Esports. The remaining bands filled the 24 seats with Initiative Academy, Enigma Gaming, Walkouts, R ESPORTS, Inside Out, Blind eSports, UP50 Esports, Nigma Galaxy, Hydra, Autobotz Esports, 7Sea Esports, ACBC Esports, GOG Esports, Retribution RTR, Marcos Gaming and Team Kinetic.

Cash prizes were not published for this event, so the record carries no prize rows. The 24 seats were the prize, and the points system matched the 2021 scale used across that season. Liquipedia publishes no overall standings table for the event, only the qualification bands, and the full 512-team Round 1 field is not named on the page.
