Galaxy Racer finished 2nd at Weekly Wars S1

Galaxy Racer is a Dubai-based esports organisation founded in 2019 that entered Indian BGMI competition in 2021 with a dedicated local division. The organisation, known by the GXR tag, was already active across the Middle East and Southeast Asia when it turned its attention to India, and its Indian roster became one of the busiest teams on the third-party circuit that year.

The Indian BGMI division took shape in August 2021, when Galaxy Racer announced a roster of MJ, RoXX, Ultron, Owais and MaxKasH, a group that had previously been based in Dubai for the PMPL Arabia season. The move gave the team a base in Dubai and a route back into competitive play, and the roster soon returned to Indian events once BGMI launched.

A mid-season reshuffle in September 2021 saw Owais, RoXX and Ultron benched, but the team still collected results across the year, including second place at the iQOO All Stars Cup with 256 points and third at the Insane Summer Split with 114 points. Second place at the GameTV Weekly Wars Season 1 and fifth at the TEC BGMI Invitational Season 1 added to a long list of 2021 appearances.

Outside the headline events, Galaxy Racer also placed sixth at the OG Starter Cup, 12th at the Wings Battlefest, fifth at the BGMI eWar Mahayudh Season 2 and eighth at the India Today Dangal event in 2021. The team reached the Loco War of Glory Grand Finals as well, finishing 13th, after an 18th-place league stage run, which closed a crowded first year in Indian competition.
