IYD x Team Tamilas' APL Round 1 title

On 23 August 2021, IYD x Team Tamilas won Round 1 of the APL Invitational Season 2, taking ₹50,000 of the ₹1,00,000 round prize (about $1,347 in the records' figures) with 129 points, 52 finishes and three chicken dinners across nine matches. Enigma Gaming finished runners-up on ₹30,000 with 115 points and 51 finishes, and TSM FTX were third on ₹20,000 with 97 points and 52 eliminations. The event was organised by APL Esports with Esports Empire, sponsored by Pepsi India and Durgesh Mishra, running 20–23 August with 24 teams.

Round 1 was only the first half of a ₹2,50,000 two-round event: 24 teams in four groups of six played a round-robin over four days, 12 matches total with each team playing nine, and the top 18 plus one fan-favourite advanced to Round 2. There, Round 1 winners IYD x Team Tamilas collapsed to tenth while TSM FTX won the ₹1,50,000 second round. Team Soul finished 19th in Round 1 and were eliminated, notable given their later dominance.

Commentators were Mayavi, Spero and Gamezo Tech. APL Esports is a Kolkata and West Bengal-based org. No MVP was recorded for Round 1 specifically.

The books are complete on this one: the IYD x Team Tamilas win, the full podium, the dates, and the prize split. Round 2 is a separate entry on this wiki.

A four-man IYD x Team Tamilas lineup of CarryOP, Skillz, EvilSurya and Striker, coached by IFlicks, took the title. Skillz was also among the round's best fraggers with 17 finishes, behind OREsports' GiLL and the TSM pair NinjaJOD and AquaNox, who managed 18 each.

Round one belonged to IYD x Team Tamilas, but they collapsed to tenth in round two while TSM FTX took the bigger prize.
