Global Esports' 212-point Mobile Open triumph
Overview
On 3 April, Global Esports won the Skyesports Mobile Open 2024, finishing the four-day Grand Finals with 212 points from 24 matches, including five chicken dinners and 131 finishes. iQOO SouL were runners-up on 203 and Team XSpark third on 177. The ₹10,00,000 event (about $11,984) ran 26 March to 3 April 2024, organised by Skyesports, and is listed in Liquipedia's B-Tier 2024 records.
The nine-point margin made it one of the closest major third-party finals of the 2024 season. Qualifiers fed 24 teams into a 16-team Grand Finals, with 24 matches across four days on the Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, and Vikendi rotation. The prize split paid ₹5 lakh to the champions, ₹2.5 lakh to second, ₹1 lakh to third, down to ₹10,000 for eighth, with a ₹10,000 MVP award and a ₹15,000 most-WWCD bonus that Global Esports also collected.
The MVP was NinjaBoi of Global Esports with 56 eliminations in 24 games, a 2.33 finishes-per-match rate that accounted for more than 40 percent of the champions' total. It was a one-man carry wrapped in a team title, and it arrived at the perfect moment: Global peaked just as the BGIS 2024 season was beginning.
The undercard had its own stories. Newcomers Team Forever (7th, 139) and Genesis (8th, 124) out-placed veterans Entity (11th) and Blind (14th), a changing-of-the-guard signal. For iQOO SouL, second place by nine points was the kind of near-miss that stung; for Global Esports, it was validation of the Mavi-led rebuild.
Global Esports Mobile Open 2024 final table stayed tight behind the champions. Global Esports led on 212 points with five chicken dinners, followed by Team SouL on 203 with four, Team XSpark on 177 with three, Gods Reign on 169 with one, Revenant Esports on 158 with two and Orangutan on 150 with three. The gap from first to sixth was 62 points across the 16-team Grand Finals.
How it went
Mavi-led Global Esports peaked at exactly the right time, beating iQOO SouL by nine points just weeks before BGIS 2024, with NinjaBoi's 56 eliminations driving the win.
