WSB Gaming won Gauntlet Season 1 2024
Overview
Gauntlet Season 1 ran from 17 to 19 August 2024 with a Rs 10,00,000 prize pool (about $11,922), and WSB Gaming won it. The Esports Club organised the event as the first BGMI edition of its Gauntlet series, with 24 teams starting online. WSB Gaming took Rs 4,00,000 for the title, Revenant Esports finished second for Rs 2,00,000, and MOGO Esports took third for Rs 1,25,000.
The structure filtered the field in three steps. Closed qualifiers on 15–16 August took 32 teams, 24 invited plus 8 from the open bracket, into semi-finals on 17 August with 24 teams across three groups. The grand finals on 18–19 August featured 16 teams. WSB's winning roster was Omega, Armxn, Zeref, and Godz, and the finals lobby included Team SouL, GodLike Esports, Orangutan, and Carnival Gaming, so the title came against a stacked field.
This was the opening chapter of a series that continued two months later with Season 2, which 8Bit won. Taken together, the two Gauntlet seasons show how The Esports Club built a repeatable third-party circuit in the second half of 2024, with different champions each time.
