8Bit's Fight Night Pro Scrims BR title
Overview
On 22 June 2023, 8Bit won the Fight Night Pro Scrims battle-royale tournament, taking ₹1,50,000 of the ₹5,00,000 total prize pool (about $6,104 in the records' figures). Blind eSports finished runners-up on ₹75,000 and Gladiators Esports third on ₹50,000, while TeamXSpark won the separate TDM championship on ₹2,00,000. The event was organised by Global Esports and ran 18–22 June with 24 teams.
The format was unique on the Indian circuit: day one (18 June) was the BR semi finals with 24 teams in three groups of eight playing round robin for 16 final slots, day two (20 June) was the BR finals with 16 teams over six matches, and days three and four (21–22 June) were TDM battles. Notably, the TDM champion's prize exceeded the BR winner's, an unusual inversion. Beast of 8Bit was named the BR MVP on ₹25,000.
The semi-final groups mixed the top organisations of the era: Team Soul, Blind, TeamXSpark, OR Esports, GodLike-affiliated Gods Reign and others. 8Bit's win is cited in later rankings of India's best teams.
Confirmed on the record: 8Bit's BR win, Blind and Gladiators on the podium, TeamXSpark's TDM title, Beast's MVP award, the dates, and the split. The dollar figure is the records' conversion.
Fight Night Pro Scrims 2023 closed with 2v2 TDM battles on 21 and 22 June, paying Rs 5,000 for every pan kill in that side event. Kripz, Spero and Mayavi formed the commentary team, and the finals table on this page puts 8Bit on 69 points ahead of Blind eSports on 62.
How it went
The TDM prize was bigger than the BR crown: TeamXSpark's ₹2,00,000 arena title outweighed 8Bit's battle-royale win in this dual-mode experiment.
