Team SouL won Rooter x APL Invitational Series
Overview
One hundred eighty points across three days gave Team SouL the Rooter x APL Invitational Series on 14 July 2024, with five chicken dinners and 117 kills in the grand final. The records value the event at about $9,578 (roughly Rs 8 lakh), with SouL taking Rs 3,00,000. Venom Gaming were second on 140 points for Rs 2,00,000, and Hector's Team Hector third on 135 for Rs 1,50,000.
SouL led from the first day with 72 points and were never caught, adding 62 and 46 on the following days for a 40-point winning margin. Sixteen teams contested the finals after preliminary rounds from a 32-team field. Rony was the event MVP with 36 finishes in 18 matches, about 21 percent of SouL's total, while Nakul took the Fan Favourite award. The winning SouL five were Manya, Rony, Nakul, Jokerr and Saumay.
Venom Gaming's runners-up finish was the underdog story: 46, 42, and 52 points across the three days, the most consistent scoring line outside the champions. For SouL, it was another 2024 trophy in a year when their form swung wildly between events.
The solid ground here is the champion, the top three with points, the winner's prize, the dates, the format, and the award winners. Liquipedia's prize table pays only the top four, matching the distribution on this page, and it lists Rooter as the organizer with APL Esports as the second organizer.
Rooter x APL Invitational Series 2024 rewarded its individual winners alongside the team prizes, with Rony taking the MVP award and Nakul the Fan Favourite player award. Team SouL also collected the Fan Favourite team award, so the champions collected three of the event awards in July 2024.
How it went
Team SouL led from day one with 72 points and were never caught, winning by 40 points over Venom Gaming.
