WSB Gaming won Skyesports Champions Series 2024

A 261-point, five-chicken-dinner week gave WSB Gaming the Skyesports Champions Series 2024 on 10 March, at the end of a 36-match grand final. The Rs 10,00,000 event (about $12,084) was organised by Skyesports with LG UltraGear as title partner and AMD powering the broadcast. Team iQOO SouL finished second on 252 points for Rs 2,50,000, and Blind Esports were third on 241 for Rs 1,00,000, with the champions taking Rs 5,00,000.

The road to the trophy ran through qualifiers and quarterfinals into semifinals, with 24 teams contesting the early stages and 16 reaching the grand finals. Across six days the finalists played 36 matches. Drigger of Orangutan was the event MVP with 57 finishes (Rs 10,000), while the most-WWCD bonus of Rs 7,500 was shared between WSB Gaming and Team Tamilas.

What made the final table remarkable was the margin: nine points separated first from second after 36 matches, the kind of gap a single bad rotation can erase. The event also fed Skyesports' leaderboard system for future invitations, and broadcasts peaked above 100,000 concurrent YouTube viewers, a strong number for a third-party event in early 2024.

Sourced for this event: the champion, the top three with points, the prize split, the dates, the format, the MVP, and the sponsors.

WSB Gaming's winning lineup was AnujTooOP, Armxn, Raiden, Zeref and Godz. The five came through the quarter-finals rather than the invited group, and peaked at the right time, outscoring every invited side across the six finals days.

GodLike Esports were disqualified during the semi-finals for violating fair-play regulations. Skyesports announced the decision on 3 March 2024, the fifth semi-final day, and GodLike took no part in the grand finals.

WSB Gaming came through the quarterfinals and semifinals as dark horses, then beat Team iQOO SouL by nine points over 36 grand-final matches.
