Orangutan won The Patriot Cup 2024

January 2024 belonged to Orangutan at Upthrust's Patriot Cup, which they won on 31 January for the organisation's first title of the year. Across the grand finals they scored 165 points with 111 finishes and three chicken dinners, taking Rs 2.5 lakh from a Rs 8,00,000 pool (about $9,626). Team Tamilas were second on 143 points for Rs 1.5 lakh, and Autobotz Esports third on 130 for Rs 1 lakh, with Chemin (129) and Reckoning (128) close behind.

The event ran in two stages: semifinals from 23 to 26 January, then grand finals from 28 to 31 January across Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok and Vikendi. Tamilas actually led after day two of the finals before fading on the last day, while Orangutan took control from day three and never let go. Drigger, AKop, and Wizzgod were the event's standout performers.

For Orangutan, the Patriot Cup was a statement after a trophy-less stretch: winning an Upthrust event outright, by 22 points, against a field that included Tamilas, Reckoning, and Global. The 24-team field and the January timing made it the first serious form guide of the 2024 season.

What the sources establish is the champion, the top five with points, the prize split, the dates, and the two-stage format.

Orangutan's winning lineup was Ash, AKop, WizzGOD and Drigger, the four players named on the champion team card.

Orangutan took control from day three of the grand finals and won by 22 points after Tamilas faded on the last day.
